Macphie Madeira Cake Mix produces a classic Madeira cake with its signature firm yet light texture. Easy to use, the mix requires only the addition of water and cake margarine to produce cakes, muffins and other baked goods.
Place 1kg of Madeira Cake Mix and 145g of cake margarine into a mixing bowl with the paddle attachment fitted. Mix for 1 minute on slow speed, add 145g of water and then mix for a further minute. Scrape down and mix for 4 minutes on middle speed followed by 1 minute on slow speed. Bake at 180 degrees (160 degrees if fan assisted) giving 50 – 60 minutes for an 800g gateaux, 40 – 50 minutes for a 400g loaf cake and 30 – 35 minutes for a 120g muffin.
